Show and Tell - Long Puff-Sleeved T

Its a dreary overcast day here today,
not much else to do apart from add to Lil Misses wardrobe

Pattern: #2 "Kamomilla" T-Shirt from 1/2010 Ottobre Magazine

Fabric: Cotton knit from Spotlight......a rare find and good quality.
Though out of all the 30 types of fleece they had available, there were only 6 cotton knits at each store I had been to in the last month.....not much of a range.
The red rib knit = a great opshop find :)

I cut this out late last night, while I waited for the kettle to boil for my hottie bottle, thinking this would be a straightforward sew.
Not so.....as usual I decided to change a few elements...such as adding puff sleeves, widening the neck opening and making a mock... short sleeve over long sleeve style.
This all added up to a day behind the sewing machine and a broken double needle.....that I only just replaced!
But hey, it all resulted in one more garment finished and a lazy day sewing :)

Oh how frustrating when you break a double needle- why don't they come in packs of more than one???
Love the result though- was totally worth your pain!
Thanks for linking up :-)

This is gorgeous. I have never sewn with a double needle. Have seen it but not used it. How do you find sewing with one?

Wow the fabric is quite a find. From a distance looked like umbrellas then I realized fashion faces!
Spotlight must be different from region to region, I often find good things when I am not searching.
Love the innovations , sad about the twin needle, :-(
But hooray for a finish :-)

@Schulz Family I love my twin needle! It makes such a difference to sewing the necklines bindings and hems on stretch fabric, as it acts just like a cover stitch. My main problem initially was the set up of the thread ( where to put it all ) but now that I figured I could use a spare bobbin with the same thread wound onto it and stacked that beside my normal top thread, it works really well....heres a helpful link http://pickupsomecreativity.blogspot.co.nz/2011/06/sewing-101-with-katy-sewing-with-double.html

Love the pattern on the fabric, though I had to stare really hard before I made out that they were faces.
