On the farm

Mikes back and now for good.....it feels so good to write that!
And to think I thought it would only take a couple of months
....boy was I naive!
Mind you if you were to tell me when I made the decision that it would take 18 months, I don't think I would have ever been so eager to take the plunge.

So this week we've spent our time reconnecting as a family
....taking it slow, doing a monthly food shop with all the kids...
and it was actually fun! crazy I know!!
and just generally sorting out loose ends with the business.

And for all my effort over this last year and half, I allocated myself a camera from the sale....it was sort of a pat on my back, aswell as our last big spend before every penny counts
...that and my last camera fell of the shelf - oops!

So today armed with my brand spanking new camera,
I took a little walk down the land
I was determined to take some photos of our newly shorn sheep, they look so different that our neighbours were convinced we'd gone a bought some new goats!  but this was the best shot I could get

Mainly because, everyone wanted to join me, and kids who like to beat box and dance while you're trying to stealthily creep up on sheep doesn't make it work!

Besides our curious cows were far more interested!

Infact you can't walk around the land anymore without them one step behind you

and when you turn around they stop and turn their heads, just like below....kind of like "if I don't see you, you don't see me"!

I think this comes from us being quite hands on with our animals right from day dot....it was the same with our pigs, chickens and now our cows......as for the sheep, tooo skittish!

Mind you with those horns....sometimes they can be a bit over friendly!!

Regardless, we really enjoyed watching the kids
exploring and having fun climbing the trees

And falling into the mud!

And being able to capture it on film.....Lucky me!!

My Family.....(minus one...who was still having a bath! )

Ps: thankyou to everyone that have left such encouraging and thoughtful comments in the last year and half.....it's really meant alot to me.....Thankyou xx

Busting out the moves in the paddock in the shorts you made them, I see. Crack up! Remember these happy moments you have with having Mike back home, they'll help on the days when you resent having more laundry and cleaning up to do ;).

How awesome to have everyone home at last. I know what it is like as my husband had to travel overseas for work a lot (mexico) and was away for 8 months out of 12. it was exhausting and I did not even home school
